Hello all

My husband (age 39) has just been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. I am 21 weeks pregnant and we have a 2 year old girl. I feel like I need support from wherever I can get it so thought I would stop by and say hi.

My husband is usually the main childcare provider so we are trying to figure out how I can get him to and from hospital appointments whilst looking after the toddler and working. I feel like I need 3 of me!

All advice welcomed.

  • Hi Catkin -  sorry to hear your news and it must be so difficult to cope. My husband was diagnosed with tonsil ( oralpharangeal) cancer in December last year and after treatment we sre oucky and he is now in remission. Im hoping you have good family and friend support as the treatment can br difficult - my hubby had surgery,5 cycles if chemo, 30 sessions of radiotherapy and then more surgery to remove his lymph nodes in his neck. We had some difficult black times but we also met some fabulous people along the way. My advice would be take all the offers of help you can- dont sweat the small things- tge ironing ,housework etc will still be there tomorrow and try to look after yourself as well because you will need all your strength to get yoursrlf and your hubby through thus. Wishing you all tbe best and loads if luck.
