Hello

Hello I'm new to group just want to say hi I was diagnosed with high-grade non Hodgkin lymphoma 2 months ago iv had 2 lots of chemotherapy so far trying to stay strong for my 5 children and trying to make them understand what's happing which is hard as I'm a long way off of getting better

Thanks sarah xx

As many of u can see my picture I'm the one in the black top my 2 sisters and my auntie had there heads shaved at the same time as I did so I didn't feel alone and raised money at the same time I don't think I would of got though it if it wasn't for them

  • Hello Sarah,

Sorry for your diagnoses but I hope your treatment goes wonderfully and you will be cancer free. Do you know what sub-type of NHL you have?

  • Hello Antoni

No I don't all I know it's in my chest and is quite big ... it was a shock to my family as I had no symptoms  so everything has happened so quickly not had time to get my head around it all x

  • I understand, yes it can hit you out of nowhere. It will be hard to give you any specific information without knowing the sub-type and also each invidiual is different. But to give you some words of comfort the faster growing/high grade lymphoma cancers usually respond well to chemo. And as it is a blood cancer although it can go anywhere it is not like most "solid" cancers and usually the chemo will melt the tumor away like hot water over ice.

I am no doctor so please take everything I say with a pinch of salt but a family member had lymphoma so I made it my business to learn as much about it as I could.

Try and remain positive if you can and you can beat this thing!!! I hope your chemo goes very well and you will be in remission. Please keep us informed and if you need to talk/vent please use this forum it's unvaluable and you will find people who have been/are going through it so will understand!!!
