I find the waiting is the hardest part... I can't imagine having to wait 3 months! What sort of things do you do to take the mind off the wait?

I am working 3 days a week and have 3 children at home who take up time with shopping etc and I go out with my partner usually eating lunch/tea.  Not much time left after that although it never leaves your mind.  I went to hospice for reflexology this week, that was nice and relaxing and just for a while it was off my mind. I wouldnt mind if I had a date for next scan, keep checking the post daily for the letter.

ive been taking gifitanib over 2 years now for nsc lung cancer i have been told i will take it for the rest of my life as long as it is working too afraid to ask how long is the longest sombodyhas taken it,i have ct scans every 3 months  so every 3 months i have everything crossed when i go for the results its wonderfull that i am well i do have side effects but i can cope with them  i dont think you ever stop worrying about cancer and i hope thatyou are getting good resultsand if you are still on gifitinib i hope i have helped to ease you worries

Hi Nanruth,

I am now off gifitinib as it stopped working.  I have remutated to T790M which means I can now take tagrisso which is actually kinder to your body with fewer side effects.  Hope you are doing okay on gifitinib, just know there are other treatments if and when it stops working.
