Hi I'm caz,

i was diagnosed with grade 3 stage 1 breast cancer in September I had my first chemo on mon. I am also doing a medical trial alongside my treatment called olaparib and I'm the third in this country to have the absolute criteria they need for the trial, so I'm really proud to hopefully be able to help other cancer sufferers in the future with the result of my treatment...

since being diagnosed my employer has dismissed me and my partner as we were a management couple, due to informing them about my cancer they discriminated against me even going behind my back and trying to get him to split up with me so I would just go home to my family and they wanted to keep him there! Since this they have now alleged gross mis conduct against us and has us arrested for apparently stealing food it's an absolute joke! We were made homeless as we lived there I've had to get rid of my kittens and we've been put in a hostel thanks to some god up there and are having a battle with the council as now I don't have a job in the area I have no ties to the area and I need to find my own flat for £500 a month that takes dad and in Cambridge area so I'm near Addenbrookes to continue this trial for all us lot.

sounds like a horror story to you guys I'm sure and it is believe me but I'm still smiling and walking about and have a roof over my head so I'm grateful and trying to soldier on but just wondered if anyone can point me in an direction for help right now.

  • Hi Caz,

Welcome to the forum and crikey you've had a lot to deal with over the last few months. It sounds like you're trying to remain very upbeat and positive about dealing with your illness.

We do have some information on our website about coping practically with cancer that might be of interest. I wonder if it might also be of help for you and your partner to seek some advice from Citizens Advice around your situation.

I hope that things become more settled shortly and that you can concentrate on your treatment and recovery.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
