Hi I am new on here and just saying hi.

I live in Kent and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Georgia.

  • Hi Georgia welcome you haven said why you on here but you came to right place.

  • Hi. I'm new on here too. My name is Emma and I was diagnosed 11 years ago with a brain tumour. It's an Oligodendroglioma. I always think what's going to happen next. Oligodendroglioma's are funny things. They can be stable for a long time then erupt like a volcano. Last year I had surgery followed by oral chemotherapy. I trust my Oncologist and Neurosurgeon and I know they know what they are doing.

  • Hi Emma and welcome you came to right place sorry for why you on here you not alone if you just want a chat or some advise.just try and live you life day by day it's easy for me to say try not to think to much on what going to happen next.like you said you got trust with oncolglist and neurosurgeon if you have any worries you can chat to nurse on here.i don't really know much about brain tumours I'm on here because my mother got bowel cancer and its spread in her blood she been fighting cancer for two years they just told here it's inoperable they can't do anything for here we don't know how long she got.if you read the post on here you always find someone who been in silmer sistution but if just want to chat I'm here.

  • I've been on both sides. Having cancer and having someone I know having cancer. It was really difficult for me as we both had brain tumours only his was a blastoma. Basically that means it's likely to spread. If your brain tumour started on your brain it can't spread to anywhere else but your brain. Mark, my friend, ended up going back into surgery after an MRI and they found lots of secondary tumours. He had a stroke during surgery and never came round afterwards. It was heart breaking especially as I had a brain tumour. We just had to be there for them throughout the whole thing. The best thing you can do is just be there for you mom. There's nothing you can do but give her all of your support. It's a big help. All the best Emma
  • Thank you Emma you have had it tuff yourself as well take care of yourself x
