Journey so far

My husband was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus at the beginning of September. We were subsequently told he had secondaries in his liver so any treatment would be palliative.  It has been a horrendous journey thus far. Managing symptoms  is the key to enjoying daily life but the emotional stuff is so difficult. i don't want to spend what time we have crying it does neither of us any good. But some days the sadness is overwhelming. Just wondered how others cope?

  • Hi Jacquel,

I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis and that only palliative care can be provided now. I can't imagine how tough this must be for the both of you right now but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. Many of our members will understand how you are feeling having gone through this with their loved ones and close friends and I'm sure they will be along soon to offer their support and share their advice with you.

Feel free to post anytime you need to Jacquel and remember that someone will always be here for you if you need them.

Wishing you and your husband all the best,
