Hot Flushes

I was diagnosed 1st Oct 20015 with secondries in my liver not not expecting anything like cancer.

Primary was found a few dayslater in my breast

I had 9 weeklysessions of picataxel I think the name may be spelt differently! Then  several wks with nothing.in January 16 I started letrazole.scans look stable but hot flushes are so debilitating.

Any one got any good remedies?

    I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis but it's great that your scans have revealed that the cancer is looking stable at the present time. Hot flushes are a fairly common side effect from cancer drugs and many of our members will know what you're going through having experienced it themselves and I'm sure they will post soon to share their advice and experiences with you. I know you have been taking letrozole for some time now but I have found some more information about it here as well as tips on how to handle hot flushes if you want to take a look.

    I'm also on Paclitaxol and absolutely love my cool gel pillow.  Find it's the back of my head and my chest area that just 'cook' at night as soon as I go to bed.  Gel pad fits inside your pillowslip and you can basically work your way from one end to the other as your head heats it up.  Just googled it and bought from internet.  Also purchased a tall cylinder type fan for about £20 from argos (with remote control) - even took it into hospital with me when I picked up an infection with ridiculously high temperature, as hosp had very limited supplies.  Spent days with my face attached inches from the fan - bliss!  Best of all - winter is coming!!!!
