Mum to a teenager with an aggressive brain tumour

Hi all, I am 37. My eldest son in 16 and in April he was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme. He has had emergency brain surgery, 7 weeks of daily radiotherapy and now on chemotherapy. I am mainly looking to find some others in similar situations for mutual support and chat? Thanks and good luck to all xxx

  • Hello VIcky.f,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I am so sorry to hear that your eldest son has been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme and I hope the surgery went well and that he is coping well with treatment.

I hope you will meet others here who are also supporting a loved one who has been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme. There are a few ladies here looking after a husband or partner who also has this type of brain tumour and they will be able to talk to you about their experience. You can have a read of this thread , for example, and feel free to respond and share your story with them.

I do hope you get chatting soon with others here who find themselves in a similar situation as it can help to talk to others who truly understand what you are going through at the moment.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
