Re: Calcification in breast

Glad I found this website. When you are diagnosed with cancer (mine is in situ), I don't know about others but I felt so alone. I walked round the department in a daze/shock. For me I started having sharp shooting pains going down my right arm and in the side of right breast after complaining about pains under right side ribs like at the back of my breast for 18 months as well as having terrific night sweats.

I changed my GP in January 2016 cos I found previous GP didn't write all my symptoms down....so glad I did.  I had a vacuum biopsy done 5 weeks ago. Went back 2 weeks later for results and another mammogram, however as I was so badly bruised & they could not see the area, I had to wait another 3 weeks.

Today I had another mammogram only to be told the clip had moved so I then had to have another clip put in. I also have the lymph node in the crease of my right arm keep swelling up and my right arm constantly aches.  Does anyone know if this is related to the breast cancer as I can't seem to get an answer off anyone.

I also asked for the result of the oestrogen test to see if it had migrated, again no answer.  I just feel left out on a limb.

Love and a hug to all likewise sufferers

  • Hello Ennyl007,

I am sure many on our forum will relate to your description of that moment when you are diagnosed with cancer, feeling so alone and walking around the department in shock.

I am sorry that you are not getting any answers to your questions. If you live in the UK, perhaps you could give a call to our lovely nurses and talk things through with them? They may be able to advise you on your questions. If you live in the UK, you can ring them on this free number 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. They also have an Ask the Nurses topic area on the forum.

I hope you will also get to talk to others here who may have had a similar experience and want to share their story with you.

    Best wishes,
