#TEAMMATTMAN

Hello everyone,

Nearly a fortnight ago my partner Matthew was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. It's been a massive shock to us as he's in his early 30's, never smoked, never drank and always stayed healthy.

He's just finished his first course of chemotherapy, but he's been referred to have a bone marrow transplant in order to help prevent leukaemia coming back. He's been keeping himself positive and focused on getting better. I'm so proud of him.

Some of our friends and myself are taking part in climbing the Snowdonia Peakes in October to raise money.  We are ready for a challenge and hope that the money we raise will go to a good cause to save lives. We can do our best to make this contribution.

I see my partner as a superhero (Mattman). We've joined the fight to beat this. I know we will. And I hope that others will join too.

Thank you

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat TiffanyBlu.

I'm really sorry to hear about your partner's diagnosis but I'm so pleased that he's staying positive and concentrating on getting better. I'm sure your comfort and support is helping him to maintain this outlook as well.

Good luck for your climb of the Snowdonia Peakes in October. It'll be tough but I know you and your friends will do great and the rmoney you raise will definitely help others who suffer from this disease.

I'm sure many will be inspired by your post and hopefully they will post soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

Do come back to let us know how you got on with your climb.

    All the best,
