  • Hello Mark,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I just wanted to let you know that only a few days ago, [@paulj40]‍ posted on the forum - he was diagnosed two weeks ago with prostate cancer and is only 40 years old so I think you two would have a lot to say to one another. You can read Paul's threads here and here and feel free to respond if you wish.

Best of luck with the start of your treatment next week!

  • Hi Mark

I see I was mentioned in one of your replies. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago, I am 40 years old. My PSA was only 3.5 and had to wait 4 weeks before another psa was taken, it had dropped slightly to 3.4 but when my gp felt it she had me referred. When I saw the consultant and he felt it then he just started talking about cancer.

A couple of weeks later I had a flow test, an MRI on my prostate then a TRUS biopsies to which after two days I was admitted to hospital with an infection. I came out a few days later then admitted again as the infection had come back. I stayed in for a few more days then I came out and a couple of days later pain and passing not nice stuff, back to doctors and infection again, he did not admit me in again but has put me on strong antibiotics for a few weeks until I see my consultant for the first time since my diagnosis. I see him next Wednesday to which I am going to ask why I have not had a CT scan yet. I am nervous and know exactly what you are going through.

I would like to know what procedures and tests you have had so far and would like to stay in touch. Thoughts are with you and your family. Regards, Paul
