The genetics department at the heath hospital have looked into the family history & although his mum had the same, Marks 3 sisters have been assessed as low risk.   They have all paid privately for CT scans though which at the moment have thankfully come back clear.

We have a 11 year old son & he keeps us sane through this rollercoaster of emotions.

Marks 1st course of treatment gembacitabine & abraxane which were fortunate to get in wales shrunk the tumour a little on his liver but not the one on his pancreas.  We are hoping this new chemo will help.  His consultant wanted to try radiotherapy as well but unfortunately the tumour is 2 close to his healthy kidney & spleen.

I have been reading many of the threads & feel that this forum will be of great support for us.

My husband was diagnosed in July of 2016 with the same thing. He decided not to take treatment. We were told he would not live for more then 6 months. It has been a roller coaster ride. He is not the typical patient. I have read alot of info. on here but none of it sounds like the symptoms he has. He has very little pain except for shoulder and knee pain which I think is arthritus. I was wonders if I could find other people that have been thru this so I could have some idea what is going on with him. He has lost muscle mass but no weight loss. His stomach is large. His finger nails get yellow then go back to clear.. If there is anyone that could give me some info. I would appreciate it. 

My husband was diagnosed with duodenal cancer in February 17 . Different from pancreatic but similar in many ways. We were told that without chemo he had a few months. Started 1st cycle of chemo at end of February and so far he's had few side effects. He is more tired than usual but other than that coping well. He has had a stent fitted and has experienced weight loss- around 20lb. He was jaundiced but that has now cleared. We're still not clear on the prognosis with chemo- tho know it's not good. Just taking it a day at a time and enjoying the simple things in life!!
