Concerned about bowel/rectal cancer.

Hi all. For the past 2 years, I have suffered with bleeding from the rectum, a mixture of fresh and mucus plum or dark blood mixed with stool. The past 2 months has got worse. Especially with pain. Stomach, digestive tract and back end. I'm constantly constipated and when it finally moves, it's thin and stinking. I have tore myself so much now in my back end and have had to use creams to soothe and clear up infection. I have been suffer badly with bloating, gas and severe indigestion. The past 2 months now, i'm constantly exhausted, light headed, feeling of almost passing out and constant breathlessness.

The doctor performed a rectal exam (Wednesday 5:30pm) and said he could feel concerning abnormalities as far as he could reach. He referred me for an urgent colonoscopy and had my bloods done 9am yesterday morning.

I am paranoid and worried because the GP seemed quite concerned and has made everything urgent, but he literally gave nothing away. My head is completely frazzled with it.

I'm a 29 year old male and I feel like I am just deteriorating day by day. I'm here because every symptom I am experiencing, points to colorectal cancer, which petrifies me.

I guess I'm just looking for similar experiences and honest news from people. It's hard to talk to my partner or anyone else around me as I don't want to come across doom and gloom or have them worried out of their heads!

Regards,

Sam

  • Hi sam

ihad the same problem as you but made a visit to the doctors in the first three months of seeing the blood, although i had my own thoughts about it i was told it was ulcerated colitis ,but after it was changed to cancer ,so after a lot of tests and examination and every thing else i was told there was only one way to cure it that was to operate so we went ahead , that was back in 2007 there were times i was feelng rather out of it all as my wife had a heart attack on the day it was cofirmed and she was very poorly .but every thing turned out ok  i had my colon removed and a pouch fitted ,have had no trouble sinse, the pouch is no trouble some times i forget its there, there is light at the end of the tunnel never give up hope, hope every thing goes well for you
