Mucinous Breast Cancer

Hi Everyone

I am new here, just joined in fact.  I have been diagnosed with Mucinous Breast Cancer and I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience of this particular type of cancer.  It is 3cm and I am having a MRI scan next Friday to detrmine the extent of the disease.

Many thanks

Maddy

  • Hi Maddy and welcome though I am sorry to see why you are here. Having had two different types of breast cancer myself last year (Invasive Lobular and Tubular) I know a little of what you are going through although not of the particlular type that you have. I too had an MRI after my diagnosis and in my case it confirmed what was already thought and meant I could then go ahead and have the planned surgery. I found this early stage the most difficult (patience is not one of my very few virtues!) but once I had a set plan in place and some dates to work to things became a little easier so hang in there and try to keep yourself busy by doing some fun stuff, especially in all this lovely sunshine...Take care and I am happy to help if I can. Sue xx

  • Hi I know this is a long time replying, but only just noticed your cancer diagnosis. I was diagnosed with luminous micropapillary carcinoma 10 years ago, I had reexcision of my biopsy cavity and also level 2axillary clearance. After which I had 6. Weeks radiotherapy and 4 years on marinade and 1 on tamoxifen. I am now fit and well and discharged from follow up. Hope you have faired as well.
