Bladder cancer

I'm looking to chat with one's who have been told they have bladder cancer. Thoughts and feeling on how they fell.

  • Hi there, welcome to the forum but sorry for why you find yourself here because of a cancer diagnosis. I have been dealing with bladder cancer now for about three and a half years. I also have other cancers, but not related to the bladder cancer. I'm not sure what it is you want to ask, but perhaps you could begin by telling me a little bit about what you have been told so far, and what the plan is for your planned treatment. I would also strongly encourage you to look on the information section of this forum "About Cancer. The more you can learn about it, the more able you are to ask questions of your urologist. When I was first diagnosed, I had never heard about bladder ever, so it was totally foreign to me. I learned fast and the more you know, the less scary it is.

Write me back and ask whatever questions you may have. If I can help, I would be glad to do so.

    Take care.

  • Hi My name Susan I live in Bristol and like u I have been told I have bladder cancer I'm here if u fancy chat

  • Hi I was just going through the forums (new member for the wrong reasons.) 43 male and just had a tumour removed last week but they said it's gone further but more scans are needed.bone scan next week. I'm also a carer for my mum who has secondary breast cancer on the liver :(
  • Hi Susan, I see there is another post since your first one, but I didn't see this one until today. I see where another member of the forum has posted. I was wondering how you were doing though. Have you had treatment and have you been told anything more on your bladder cancer? I just had another surgery about 3 weeks ago and am waiting for an apt. with the urologist for a follow-up. Apparently multiple tumors were removed during the surgery which isn't good, but I assume he's waiting for the pathology report to come back before he meets with me. I hate this waiting for information. What has been going on for you? Looking forward to hearing from you again.

  • Hi Burney, welcome to the forum, but sorry to hear that you have bladder cancer. Sounds like you have your hands full with your Mom having secondary breast cancer. It seems to come in bunches for sure. So you have been told it has progressed further. Did they elaborate on that at all? I guess you wouldn't have even gotten into a treatment plan as yet since they need to have the report from the pathology lab before they can determine the next step. Had you suspected for long that you had a problem, or did this come on all of a sudden? Of course, the sooner its' detected the better chance you have to eradicate it.

Do you have other family members to assist you with your Mom? If you have to have surgeries/treatments, etc. you likely will need some help with all of it. Is your Mom very ill at this point? I hope things work out okay for you. Come back on the forum and get support from the members on here. It really helps to communicate with people who understand what you're going through.

    Take care.
