Newbie

Hi folks, not sure what to say!!!

Here goes,I'm 59 yrs young, and going through Prostate Cancer alone.Had first signs of blood in my urine two years ago,but was told not to worry, and given some pills to take.!!!!!

I was diagnosed in January 2016, and within 4 weeks had been operated on by my doctor and his team in Colchester.Cannot praise them enough for their care, and compassion.I signed up for my Prostate to be used for medical research at Essex University)

I had a few visits to A+E with urinary infections caused by the Catheter.(removal of this makes your eyes water guys)

Now,having kept up the Pelvic Floor Exercises my bladder control is almost normal again.

  • Hi tjay100756

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear that you are facing prostate cancer alone. I'm glad to hear that you have received really good care from your doctor and his team and that you have signed up to donate your prostate  for research - that's a really amazing thing to do.

I hope some of our lovely forum members will be along shortly to welcome you and chat with you.

    Best wishes,

    Kirsty

  • Hi sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I have no knowledge of your condition but just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum, hopefully someone with more knowledge will chat to you.

One thing I can relate to is I was diagnosed with breast cancer last July and faced it alone without a partner, thankfully I had my family to support me.

I wish you all the best for your recovery. Audrey.
