hello from Australia

After searching for a cancer forum I found this and am impressed with reading the topic starters and replies.

I was diagnosed with Indolent Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 17 years ago and had not had any treatment until one year ago. I chose to have no treatent unless I was in pain or vital organs were affected. I made this choice as there is no cure.

Last year I had chemo which was successful but a month later had pain in my ribs which a pet scan showed to be a fractured rib.

Actually it was more than a fracture as part of the rib was missing. Another scan and biopsy showed the cancer had transformed into an aggressive B cell Lyphoma and my prognosis was given as poor.

I am currently having radiation which eases the pain and hopefully shrinks the cacer but have been told that if it is fixed in this spot then it will just appear somewhere else.

My reason for joining this forum is because I am dying, my head is filled with confused feeligs and I need to chat with others who might be in a similar situation and thus understand my emotions.

Than,ks for listening,

Gerry

  • Hi Gerry and welcome from Oz! Whereabouts in Australia are you? My sister is in the Snowy Mountains. I'm sorry to see your diagnosis is not so good. Unfortunately there are others in similar situations to you, hopefully they will respond although it might be best to put your post under a different category for more attention. Take care x
