hi, my dad (82years old)was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last November 2015. His prognosis is 6-8 months. He is not receiving any treatment as he was referred to the pallative team. His oncologist felt that he won't be able for any treatment. After his diagnosis he started to go down hill. At the end of February (Thursday)his GP told us that he had a few days left. The following Monday the pallative team told us he had a few hours. My sister even travelled home from Austraila But since the beginning of March he started to improve. He is back eating& drinking. His morphine pump was removed just a low dosage patch. He even gets up for a few hours in the afternoon. Today he got dressed. He is lucky as he never had any pain. While we are delighted that dad is still with us we don't understand what happened or what is happening. Has anyone else experienced this. His GP can't explain what happened.thanks in advance x

  • It sounds like a roller coaster... I don't know why it's happened but I'm so pleased he is still with you. It's seems crazy to be told somebody only has a few hours to live and them still be around weeks later in an improved state. Somebody answered some prays for you all, make the most of it xxx
