Breast cancer

Hello, I live in Oxford, and have breast cancer, in my left breast, having it all removed next Tuesday xx I am new on here.

  • Hi Maxine. I had a mastectomy last September, I know what you are going through, the waiting for tests, results makes your mind go into overdrive. I found once things got under way I settled down a bit. How are you feeling about things? Are you keeping busy? I wish you well for your operation and recovery. Audrey x

  • Hi maxine

I had a mastectomy in January and I'm now half way through my chemo with #4 next week.

I know how hard waiting for test results and treatment to start is.I also know how nervous you will be feeling about your operation next week.I remember it well I was terrified and even the theatre staff commented on how fast my heart rate was.

I needn't of worried no sooner had I gone to sleep I was waking up in recovery. It was over so fast. The pain was minimal also which surprised me.As long as you do your excercises they have given you,you will soon gain mobility in your arm again.I was more or less myself again within 10 days.

Want to wish you luck and to say there are lots of us here who have been through it or at at various stages. We are all here to support each other. If you have any questions we can help with please ask.

    Take care Ness
