Hello

I had a bilateral lumpectomy in 2013 and after chemo, radiotherapy and Herceptin I am now thankfully clear of breast cancer and will now have tests annually. I have unfortunately been left with lymphedema in the arm and breast for which I am having regular lymphatic drainage and wear a sleeve. I would like to know if there is anything else I could do to help the lymphodema. I also find it difficult to get a suitable bra, there are plenty for masectomies but not lymphedema. I do go to the gym weekly and try to keep fit.

  • Hello Gil,

Sorry to hear you have been left with lymphedema in the arm and breast. Someone posted on Cancer Chat before in our Ask the Nurses topic area who also has lymphedema. You can read MEBR61's thread here and get in touch if you want as you are both in a similar situation it seems and she may have some suggestions on suitable bras. The nurse response to her question may also be of interest to you. Feel free also if you wish to post any question you may have in our Ask the Nurses topic area or to ring them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
