stage 4 is sad

I was 40 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and it was already in stage 4, the cancer has spread to my bone.  I might say in front of my family I play strong as if everything is okey but deep inside me I'm preparing my self in meeting my creator.

  • I am so sorry to hear that.  Playing strong in front of the family is something a lot of people do, but you do need to talk about your fears and feelings as well.  There is a lot for you to think about and work through, holding it all in is not good for you.  I couldn't talk to my family but I did go to see a councellor which is very helpful.  You don't need to hide how you feel from them, the fear of upsetting them isn't there.  They just are there for you, no-one else.  I did eventualy talk to my family, but still havn't told them everything.  I just can't.

  • Hi Marie,

Welcome to the forum. I know how hard it can be receiving a Stage 4 diagnosis, almost the worst news we can imagine. There are several of us on this forum in a similar position, I hope you find some support from us.

Are you receiving, or have you been offered any palliative treatment such as chemo?

    Best wishes
    Dave
