Chemo not working

Hi

First time posting in a forum like this.  I was diagnosed with Biphasic malignant pleural Mesothelioma in the New Year and have undergone 3 cycles of chemo (Cisplatin and Pemetrexed).  Had CT scan at the weekend and saw my oncologist yesterday when she advised me that the Chemo hadn't had any impact on the tumour in my chest - it had grown since last scan, rather than shrunk as we had  hoped.   The chemo might have slowed the growth down a bit I suppose but its certainly not doing anything more positive than that.

There doesn't seem to be much of a second line option available.  Its not possible to surgically remove and radiotherapy won't help.   So I am now waiting on the hope of being enrolled in a clinical trial - will be hopefully seeing a doctor at Leicester soon.  In the meantime, I have a 4th round of chemo on Tuesday in the hope that at least it is slowing the growth while we search for some other options.

All of which sucks - I am only 52, have always been fit and healthy, running marathons and cycling miles on my bike.  At least that has put me in a good position to manage the chemo etc as well as I am doing but it doesn't look as though things are going to get any better than they are now and noone seems to be able to tell me just how the disease will progress and how my condition may deterioriate - its a waiting game!!
