Bladder cancer adenocarcinoma

After being told needed radical cystectomy, surgeon has now said I've to get laparoscopy partial cytectomy.to meet surgeon on 22 of this month who's going to perform my operation, I'm just wondering if anyone on here has had this done and chances of cancer returning

  • Hi there, welcome to the forum. I have bladder cancer now for 3 years and have had several surgeries to remove the cancers. I'm not sure if my surgeries were the same as what you're going to have, but I really think your treatment team would be the best ones to answer your questions on this upcoming surgery. I have also had several treatments of BCG off and on over that time. There are many different issues around bladder cancer that I don't fully understand; I only know about my particular situation. I also have other cancers going on that are not related to the bladder cancer, so it seems with me, they are "putting out fires" all over me most of the time. The main goal for my treatment team is to keep me alive as long as possible.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I would want to know more about this surgery if I were you and the best ones to speak to would be the surgeon, or the urologist, or the nurse who was with you when diagnosed. Come back on the forum to let us know what you find out and how you get along with it.

Take care and good luck with it.

    Lorraine

  • I have read about this but no personal experience I'm afraid. I have managed to keep my bladder so far but if cancer returns will have RC. There are many people fighting this disease and there is a support group called Fight Bladder Cancer Support via facebook. If you go to their website you can join using the link there and it is a closed group where you can ask anything bladder cancer realated and there is lots of support. Hope that helps you.

    Much luck to you. C.x
