Barrett's oesophagus

Hi I'm in remission from AML, every one of the four courses of chemotherapy presented different side effects. On the last chemotherapy the downside was Barretts esophagus. Now I have been on anti gastric tables for Colitis for several years. I'm I at higher risk of developing cancer of the esophagus because I have AML. I'm losing weight simply because I can't eat much before I in great discomfort. Thank you Colin

  • Hi Colin,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. Interestingly, only a couple of days ago there was a lady who posted here who wanted to talk to others with Barrett's oesophagus. You can read her message here and feel free to drop her a line. I am sure she will be very happy to hear from you and share her husband's experience with you.

I am sorry to hear you are not able to eat much at the moment and that you are in great discomfort. Have you mentioned it to your medical team? I hope they can give you some good tips - and feel free to give our nurses a call too on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
