Worried family member

Hi,

My soon to be mother in law has stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to her hips, groin and spine. She also suffers with an autoimmune disease which makes this all the more unfair. Everyone is obviously upset but her children and husband are supporting her. My partner and I live the furthest away and have just had our second child arriving the day before the cancer diagnosis. We have visited as much as we can but my partner feels torn between his mum and us just as we're so far away but I'm supporting him the best I can. We were feeling slightly encouraged earlier in the week but then soon after another tumor was identified and she was admitted urgently to hospital. Radiotherapy has begun to hopefully reduce the spine and groin tumors and ease the pain but we are uncertain about what can be done about the lungs.

Sending love to everyone who's fighting and supporting those affected. X

  • Hi flydamo

Sorry about your soon to be mother in law.

Living so far away when a loved one is ill can be very stressful.

Added to this, you have a wonderful new addition to your family and so you must have your hands full.

I hope that you will be able to receive support and advice from others here who also have loved ones affected by cancer.

    Best wishes

    Jane
