Breast biopsy

I had a biopsy last Wednesday,  after finding a lump and seeing my GP 2 weeks earlier.  I am more 44 and had a breast reduction 14 years ago.

 

I asked if it could be scar tissue but was told it wasn't.   I was asked if I'd had a bang to the area but I don't recall one at all.

 

I'm scared, i have 4 children and they are my life.  I go on Thursday for the results of the biopsy.  I don't know what to think :( the lump is just above my nipple, since the biopsy, it feels smaller, is this normal?  I'm trying to hope that it's smaller and therefore related to my menstrual cycle, clutching at straws maybe!

    Exactly it's a no brainer really isn't it.Yes it's upsetting suddenly being different than the body we've grown used to over the years.But in the end I'm sure any of us would give an arm or leg just to be healthy.

    I do struggle with body image now and I wonder what my husband thinks of me? It's hard sometimes however maybe in the future when my treatments are finished i can have reconstruction who knows? For now just being here for my kids and husband is good enough for me.

    I will!

    My sense of humour has made me laugh at the irony that 14 years ago I had a breast reduction and now I might be considering implants! Saying that without that reduction in probably wouldn't have found the lump.

    Humour has got me through too.

    Just the other day I was getting dressed and I lost my 'fake' boob! I was running around like a crazy woman looking for the silly thing and hubby helping....I just found it soooooo funny that I'd lost my boob through surgery and now I'd lost the fake one.I will never forget that!

    Op is done, I'm staying in overnight as I've got a drain in until tomorrow.  Registrar told me that it was low to intermediate grade dcis, which is probably the best of a pretty rubbish deal isn't it.

    HI

    Glad the op is over,hope the drain isn't too uncomfortable mine drove me nuts but I did have it in for 5/6 days.

    It does sound as If you have the best of a bad deal.Hopefully this will soon be a bad memory but a distant one xxx
