Thankfully it is quite rare that someone so young has breast cancer but that is not to say that you should not get the lump checked out.  If you can, it would be best to tell your Mum/Nan/sister/friend about your worries so that they can come with you and give you some support - worries are always better shared.

If there is a lady GP at your surgery, ask to see her and tell the receptionist you would like to see a lady as you have a problem with your breast and dont feel you want to see a male GP. Or ask to see the practice nurse.  The other place where you can go is your local family planning clinic who are always very helpful with younger peoples intimate health problems and they normally hold several drop-in clinics over the week.  It is a really quick examination  - they will literally just feel the lump and it will take a minute or two.

Please try not to over-worry sweetheart - us ladies kind of have to get used to talking about our intimate parts and having examinations - what with periods, contraception, pregnancies, infections and the menopause that affect us all over the years.  Like Ness says, this is part of a doctor's job and they honestly wont give it a second thought and will probably feel very relieved that they have been able to reassure you  Please let us know how you get on - I will be thinking of you and wishing you well x

Hi hunny , I Hope you got the help you needed , Your so young._ I am 34 an found a red lump on my nipple 1 day ago an i to am scared .
