diagnosed in December

I was diagnosed a monh ago today with invasive lobular breast cancer, at the end of a pretty *** few years. It was a very strange experience as I didn't find a lump, just noticed 1 boob didn't go back to normal after a period. I somehow 'knew' it would be cancer, so I handled it all really well, the confirmation, the MRI, the derranged bloods, the new medications to try and sort them out in 1 week before my op, the insertion of a target wire & radiosotope injection and the operation a few days before Christmas. But then I had a major breakdown on Tuesday and it was like I had only just realised I had cancer. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I am also looking into other treatment options, both conventional and complementary and I would love to hear from anyone who has researched these things or is using non-standard treatments, either alone or alongside conventional medicine.

  • Hi,

I do not have breast cancer but metastatic lung & brain from melanoma. I am on conventional treatment through my melanoma specialist.

I also do hyperbaric oxygen therapy which helps me. I researched it and apparently cancer tumours feed on low oxygenated cells?  This therapy also boosts the immune system as well as strengthening the cells. A young girl who goes too has breast cancer and she does this alongside a mitochondrial diet. Please look it up yourself too

Anything you do which could affect conventional treatment i would advise you to discuss with your specialist though.

Keep us updated how you get on

  • Thanks Yvette,

I did see something about this in my research, it does sound interesting, you're right cancer cells multiply in the absence of oxygen and in sugar-rich environment (I'm diabetic, hideously uncontrolled until recently). I have loads of the risk factors that I didn't know about until I started to research it :-(

I'm having Hypnotherapy, meditating, chiropractic care when I'm healed, Reihki and have made major changes to my diet. Getting my results - hopefully - on Wednesday so will know more about future treatments :-)

I hope this threapy continues to work for you
