I thought I would bump your post to the top of the forum so that others who have been diagnosed with DCIS can notice it more easily and perhaps share their treatment choices with you.
We have some information on treatment for DCIS here. But there's nothing like talking to others who are in the same boat which is precisely what this forum is for. So I did a little forum search for you and found another lady, Julia1, who posted only few weeks ago who was also looking to talk to others who have been diagnosed recently. I had dcis diagnosis a couple of weeks ago with the same dilemma of trial or surgery. I struggled to find people in similar situation. I opted for surgery (which i had last week) still early days and await results as we speak. It would be good to know how you are doing. Much love
just thought I'd send a quick hello. Not sure what type of surgery both of you have had. I was diagnosed with DCIS in April this year and had a node biopsy and mastectomy in June. Four months down the line I'm doing ok, recovery has been slow but I've had an iron problem which hasn't helped. I am happy with my results, which they will check in another 6months. The difficult bit for me is emotionally getting on with things 'as normal'. I was told it was the best of the worst news I could have so trying to bear that in mind, wishing you both well in your recovery.
