What next ?

My mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in October last year. She has her 3rd chemo next week, followed by a consultant appointment then her first scan to see if the chemo has made a difference. If it has then it's a hysterectomy.

I guess no one expects their mum to tell them they have cancer.

I don't expect sympathy off people.

There are many people who are worse off.

But what if. ...

She lives a long way off and is not easy to get to quickly. .

But what if ...

So many questions. ..

    but what if ........

the treatment goes great and your worries are over !

You can have a bucketfull of questions sweetheart and no-one can answer them truthfully because they (the consultants, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists) just cannot predict 100% about anything to do with disease because it has a mind of its own regarding how it will repond to treatment, if it will slow down for a while, if it will spread elsewhere, etc etc etc

There is honestly no point in spending your time thinking about what ifs ............

Try thinking about what is ...............    !!!

Mums LIVING with cancer, not dying from it

Her treament has finished and hopefully, all things x'd, it has done its job and an operation is imminent to remove the remaining disease.

You could be in a very good  place right now !!

We live in a world where distance isnt so much of a problem and you can talk to and see Mum everyday on skype etc.  You WILL be with her swiftly if needed!  She knows you love her but also have a life to lead - she's your Mum (we know everything haha!)

Take it a day at a time - no point in looking at what ifs because you may be wasting valuable time worrying about something that will never happen.

Have a happy and stress-free 2016 and the very best of luck to your Mum.  Let us know how it goes. x
