Introducing myself

I was first diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma in  Nov 2010. Initially surgery seemed to work for me and I had tetreatment free spells in between 4 operations. Then I had a rather bad spell of chemo for a sarcoma in the abdomen which was changed to radiotherapy. It took about 8 months to go through and recover from the treatment. Now I have two new tumours and starting chemo om Monday. In between I have tried to just get on with life. Sometimes this is not so easy. A little apprehensive about Monday, but positive.

  • Hi there Moriette, welcome to the forum, but sorry for why you're here. I think there are several of us on the same or similar journey that you are on, so we can relate. It seems like for some of us, once we get on this roller coaster called "the cancer journey" it never stops. It starts with diagnosis and then its' surgeries, tratments, then a brief period of relief, and then back into it. Its' like a never ending journey for some of us. I have been doing this now for 6 years and just when I think I can take a breather, something else comes up. You're in good company here and it certainly does help to have other people to "talk to" who really know and understand what its' like to deal with ongoing cancer issues. You will find that it certainly helps to share your experience with other forum members and to give and receive support.

Come back on here to let us know how you get along on Monday. Keep posting and reading the posts of other forum members. I look forward to hearing how things go for you.

    Take care.

    Lorraine
