sheba

High i am 53 but my mam has terminal cancer we were just told last week she has 4 to 6 months i find it hard to stop crying ,  she trys to talk about when she is gone i cant do it x

  • Hi, Sheba, it sounds like your mam has come to terms with her diagnosis, so please let her talk to you.  At first my adult children wouldn't let me talk to them, just saying to me that I would be fine and they couldnt cope with negativity.  I have sat them down explained that I had come to terms with everything and they had to as well, or they would make my remaining time extremely miserable.  I wanted to do some fun things, talk to them normally and build some good memories.  Their depression was dragging me down too. Now we are having good times and I am so much happier.

Please let her talk to you, have some good times to remember and know you have done whst your mam wanted.  With my best eishes to you, Sheba.

  • Hi nettie

Sorry to hear your mam has cancer, but keep up hope the doctors dont know how long a person will live. the 4-6months could be 2 or 3 years. A recent post here had someone celebrating their 3rd Christmas after wondering if they would get to the first one. Kim

  • Hi Sheba, I am so sorry about your mum,I know how hard it is for you,I have the same thing with my daughters and I find that they will not talk about it with me, they push it to the back of their minds as it's to painful to think that I won't always be here. Be strong for her God bless .
