Hello

Hey guys... just wanted to say hey and say who i am.... im amy...im 35...and just been diagnosed with breast cancer... not too much more to say atm as they only diagnosed about two weeks ago so not too much has happened yet x

  • Hi Amy,

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to read about your diagnosis. When your first diagnosed, it seems almost as if you are in limbo for you are often waiting for tests or results. Once your medical team have decided on what treatment to give, I feel sure you will feel better. At the moment, things must seem very uncertain. Once we know what's what, we can get our heads round things better. It's the not knowing that causes the problems. Take care and sending kind thoughts your way, Brian.

  • Hi Amy, it's good to see that Brian and Chrissy have already given you some great advice. There are a whole bunch of lovely people on here and knowing that you are not alone reallly does help. I was in your position back in February and know how you might be feeling at the moment, still shocked at the diagnosis but very anxious to get on with it, whatever it may be? To me, it felt like it was all happening to someone else and I went into autopilot mode for quite some time which I think is very common and is our mind's way of dealing with things, especially at this early stage. Have you been given a treatment plan yet or are you still waiting for more test results? The waiting game is hell as we can all agree but please hang in there and ask anything and everything you want, I am happy to help if I can. I hope you have good support from family and friends but this is also a great place to seek advice or even just to rant and rave if you feel like. No one will judge you here and it is often easier to offload somewhere like this rather than to those close to you. We are here as you need us and do keep us posted.  Take care  Sue x
