I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing and to hear that your Mum is now not well. The fear of the unknown is awful and the hardest part is the waiting. I too was recently diagnosed with breast cancer (Thursday week ago) and I am awaiting a mastectomy early January. I have been offered a lumpectomy with reconstruction (as like your Mum my cancer has been caught early) but this is not the route for me. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi kay so very sorry to hear of your news it must be extremely tough for you all at the moment. I also found this site by looking through different websites as never been through anything like this myself with family members. It's hard but like me you need to stay strong for yourself also. I hope your treatment goes well. Please keep in touch and let me know which treatment you have. It may help with my mum. We won't know until next Thursday what the doctors are going to do but I think my mum is thinking that they will just remove it and that will be the end of it!

How are you feeling today? That is exactly what I am hoping will happen and have been led to believe will be the case. However, even though my lymph nodes appear to be clear they will take out a few during my operation to check that all is okay - if so, there will be no need for any further surgery.

My mum had her appointment yesterday and it was not good news. She has stage 2 cancer and will need a mastectomy and then 6 months of chemotherapy. I really don't think she is strong enough for that. She is only about 6 stone now so God only knows how she is going to do this. I am so frightened for her

Sorry to hear that your Mum's news was not as hoped. Since you have lost your Dad so recently it is hardly surprising that your Mum has lost so much weight. In view of the impending operation your Mum really needs to keep her strength up - even if it is only grazing. Make sure that you look after yourself also. Hugs X
