New and just saying hi ☺︎

I'm 39 and was diagnosed with fnhl in January after going to my doctor for more than 6 years with my symptoms. I had 6 months of R and B and was declared NED in July.  I'm on 2 years of maintenance. Still getting used to my new way of life and desperately miss my job.

  • I know little about your diagnosis, but like me there is some relief in having a conclusion. Just letting you know your not on your own on this forum.:-)

  • Hi everyone. My name is Michael. I'm 41 and I'm from Southern California. I've been having symptoms of colon cancer for 2 months: rectal bleeding, pain in my abdomen and sides, narrow and flat stools, bloating, nausea, and fatigue. I see my doctor on Tuesday and I'm going to ask for a referral to see a gastroenterologist so I can have a colonoscopy. It looks like I might have to start a fight against colon cancer. God bless everyone who is fighting against cancer. May Jesus **** be with all of you and heal you all.

  • Hi Joanne and welcome to the forum.  I have also been on the cancer journey but I am not familiar with all the terminology so not quite sure about your diagnosis, treatment etc.  However, glad you are now on maintenance and hope all goes well for you in the future.  It is difficult when you have to give up employment and I finished working 4 years ago and I must say it is not so much the work I miss as my colleagues.   I am lucky enough to keep up with some of them and now do the "ladies who lunch" and get their support.   One other has also had cancer, although different types, and we can cross refer and support each other.  I think it is a case of finding alternative ways of occupying your time and if well enough some volunteering also makes you feel you are doing something worthwhile again.  Tina.
