Introduction to site

Hi my name is Lesley. I wish I had found this site before.  I have had breast cancer 3 times. Each time I think I am ok back it comes.  I had a mastectomy and reconstruction 17 years ago,  followed by a lumpectomy on the same breast 8 years ( I thought my first op would have been enough to stop that happening) A year ago in the middle of my cleavage was a lump and that turned out to be a tumour. I had 2 ops and it was still not showing  enough margins.  I  was then referred to a thoracic surgeon plus a plastic. surgeon.  I had the top layer of the manubrium  removed , muscle moved plus skin graft. They informed me that even after this the margin wasn't enough.  I had several scans before the op but they had not seen the orher tumour . So radiotherapy  followed even though I had it in the same area 8 years previously.  I am waiting for another scan in January so fingers crossed they have got rid of it. Although I world never say I am clear that would be too  bold a statement.  Has any one else had similar experience as I have been informed its rare.
