Getting involved in customized therapies

Hello everybody,

I have seen that is possibile to give a contribution in many ways and I hope I can help in some way. I have read that new experimental cures are being developed that are customized for each patient. I was wondering if anybody knows more about these kind of researches, specifically about Mycosis Fungoides and Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphomas. I know that most of the work is being done by people with a Biology, Molecular medicine and similar backgrounds, but I also know Computer Science is very important too. Having myself a  a background in this area I was wondering if I can do something to help.

Thanks

  • Hi Elpis, thanks for the offer!

We’re working on some exciting ‘Citizen Science’ projects, getting the public involved in helping analyse cancer research data to help speed up progress against cancer. You can find out more and get in touch with the team here.

On the science side, we do fund computational biology research, including teams led by Nick Luscombe at the Francis Crick Institute and Florian Markowetz in Cambridge.

I hope you find this information useful; we're always delighted to hear when people are interested in getting involved!

    All the very best,

  • Hi Helen,

    Thank you for your reply!

I have just quickly seen the websites, and I have to say that creating games that help in some way the research is a wonderful idea :)

I will have a better look into those websites and see if I can be of help :)

    Have a nice evening!
