Hello, I'm new

After two weeks of being unwell, we thought the flu or a stomach infection, my mum was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer on 13th August 2015. My mum has gone from a vibrant, beautiful women to bed bound  in just a few weeks. I can't get my head round everything, the doctors suggest she knew and ignored that something was wrong and now it's too late. She is too unwell to have any treatment at the moment and we are trying to help her build her strength up so that she may have some treatment at the end of September. I've never posted on a forum before but I spend my evenings worrying or looking for some answers or comfort. Pits all happened so fast, is it possible to have an initial diagnosis of cancer that has spread-could my mum have really known that she was so poorly?

  • I think most people avoid making a fuss because they would rather not know, plus my experience of GP's is the majority do not take you seriously. Try not worry, breast cancer is very curable, I know it is an advanced stage but there is always hope. Why not join Macmillan and Health Unlocked too, they are busier boards.

    Good luck
