Dear All

My wife recently had surgery to remove a NM large brain tumour. I am here really to understand what to expect. I am a little out of my depth on this.

  • Hi David, welcome to the forum, but sorry for the reason you are here. People on here are very caring and supportive and all are either dealing with their own cancer, or of a loved one with cancer. I've been on both sides of that fence; several times with family members and friends, and now having cancer myself. Right now I'm dealing with lung and bladder cancer and I'm in between surgeries and treatments. My sister-in-law is dealing with lung and brain cancer. She's had surgery and is having radiation treatments. Its beginning to feel like there are more people with cancer than people without it. I know that's exaggeration but that's how it seems. I know there have been major gains made in the treatment of all cancers and certainly people are living for years longer than they did 25 years ago. We don't always know how things are going to turn out, but it is so important for family and loved ones to support the person with cancer, but also to support each other.

I hope your wife gets along good with her treatment, but come on to the forum and let us know how she and you are doing. My response to your post will bump your post to the beginning again so hopefully, someone else will respond soon.

Take care and all the best to you and your wife.

    Lorraine
