cancer of the throat

My dad went in for exploritary last Monday for problems in his throat, been back and forward to docs for nearly 2 years, due to a lot of Glasgow hospitals closing it took all this time before he could see a consultant. Come Monday afternoon he had an emergrngy tracker fitted,an has 4th stage cancer,only opyion is to remove his voicebox, part of the windpipe ,lymph glannds and gullut.Im hear because i,my dad in total disbelief. Understand the emergency trcker... wasnt discussed....if whats....He is finding it very hard, (read all the stories how people amend), not my dad he want out of hospital to die. Iam with him every step but scared what he will be capable of when he gets home next week.

    Sorry about your dad and it is understandable that you are both in total disbelief.

    If you would like to talk to our nurses about your concerns over how your dad will be able to cope when he gets home, they will be happy to advise you on this.

    Others here who have been in a similar position may be able to advise you too about help you can get at home for your dad when he leaves hospital.
