Husband - adenocarcinoma bowel - also liver and lungs

Hi all.  I am spirifer - spiz for short.  My husband had lymphoma in his bowel 7 years ago, which was successfully treated with R-CHOP chemo.  Now he has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the bowel (on the site of the lymphoma) and secondaries in the liver and lungs.  He's just undergone surgery and is awaiting chemo.

I am here for advice and love and empathy - there's nothing we humans do better.

  • Hi Spiz, welcome to the forum, but sorry for the reason you are here. I had colon cancer that then went to my lung, and now I have bladder cancer. I'm still kicking though, but for how long, I don't know. I try not to think too far ahead these days. I see no one has responded to your post, so thought I would respond and bump your post to the beginning where it will be seen and hopefully, bring more attention to it.

I wish your husband good luck with his treatments and hopefully, a successful outcome. People on this forum are very caring and supportive and I'm sure someone else will respond soon.

Sending you hugs and best wishes.

  • Hi Spiz, I'm also adenocarcinoma diagnosed but of unknown primary. I'm on my second type of chemo as the first one failed to have any effect on my liver tumours, though it did slow lung and lymph ones and got me fit enough to have a stronger type.

Keep posiitive for your hubby, he will need your strength when he's down.  I know it's easy to say, but looking for the good in every day and making memories when you can is really important to keep your head healthy and not dwell on the dark thoughts.  Some things are just beyond our control and we just have to make of them what we can. It's a horrible life to be living, but we don't get a choice, just a choice as to how we face it.

I wish you and your hubby the best outcome with treatment.  Shel x
