  • Hi La Verne

Just wanted to welcome you to the forum.  I hope others with the knowledge of your situation will soon be along to chat. Wishing you a good recovery from your surgery.Jules54

  • Hi LaVerne, welcome to the forum, but sorry for why you're here. I have had two big surgeries for lung cancer so I can certainly relate. One surgery was 2 years ago, and the 2nd one was just before last Christmas. Its' not fun for sure, but I did survive them. You do need to take the time to allow yourself to heal though, because if you don't, you will pay a price. I still have quite a bit of nerve pain from the second surgery, not as bad as it was at first of course, but still not great. I will be seeing my surgeon in early August for follow-up and a ct scan, so I'll know more then.

Good luck with it and just do what you're told and take care of yourself. Come back and let us know how you get along as you go through the healing process.

    Take care.

  • What kind of cancer was yours? Stage? Mine I'm told was BAC Stage 1 still don't know alot about it. Doctor said they got it all and I do not need any more treatment. I go back in December for Follow up. I have never smoked.

    Thanks

    La Verne

  • Hi La Verne , I had an upper right lobectomy in March ,I have never smoked either but was a passive smoker from my parents of the 60's generation .It seems unfair but thats as is fair or not .I am currently having mop up chemo as it was in two of my lymph nodes .It sounds like they got yours early as they did mine but mine was already on the move unfortunately .Getting over these big ops takes time but bit by bit you start to get it together again just slightly remodelled ,be kind to yourself but try and walk a little everyday which stops complications and makes you feel a little stronger each day.slowly you will start to feel better .
