Devastated

6 weeks ago today my hubby was diagnosed with a brain tumour, the next day a scan revealed a tumour on his lung, this being the primary cancer. 4 days later the brain tumour was succesfully removed, and he as this week started 10 days Radiotherapy on the whole brain to kill off any remnants left behind. He is 57 and fit and strong, never ever ill upto now. He is recovering very well and you wouldn't think anything was wrong to look at him, he is being very positive. After his Radiotherapy he will start on Chemotherapy for his lungs, dreading that just don't want him to start feeling ill. We have been told it is not curable but treatable.  Cannot believe how your life can change in an instant, still struggling to come to terms with it. But like I said he is very positive and plans on being around for a few more years yet.

  • Hi Lyn,

Welcome to this friendly forum and thanks for sharing your story with us. The first post is always the hardest.

I am sorry to hear about your hubby but it sounds as though he is dealing with it very well. What a lot of people dont realize is that it's not just the patient that needs support. You need support too for cancer has this way of affecting all the family and friends. Anytime you feel the need to talk, there is usually someone on here who will respond.

Wishing you all the best, take care, Brian.
