My husband's cancer

Hi all,

I am a new user, and I am just wanting some support dealing with my husband's second diagnosis of NHL, which he has in the eyes.  He had it in the brain in 2012.

He is currently in hospital having a stem cell transplant.  He has had the chemo and his cells are going back in today.  I am anxious because I don't know how it will affect him, so some help and support would be fab

  • Hi Tracy, welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry to hear that your husband has received another diagnosis of cancer. I'm not familiar with this type of cancer, but thought I would respond to your post anyway, to let you know that we do read the posts and provide support where we can. Hopefully someone will respond soon and perhaps will have a little more knowledge about your husband's disease. Having said that, cancer, is cancer whatever the form, so its' always difficult to hear it once, let alone a second time. I know because I've heard it 4 times now and I never get used to it. I hope you both get through this latest hurdle and are able to move on in a healthier way going forward. Stay in touch with the forum as I'm sure you will hear from someone else very soon.

Take care and best of luck to you and your husband.

    Lorraine

  • Hi Lorraine,

Thank you so much for responding, I am sorry to hear that you have had it 4 times, I hope you are on your way to a healthier way too.

I'm just so anxious about it all, although he has had it before, I just feel like I want to lash out with anger - I am having counselling, which does help.  I am worried because I don't know what to expect in relation to the stem cell and how he will be afterwards.... Actually I wonder if there is a separate forum for the stem cell, I may google it.

Thanks again Lorraine, your kind words have been great :-).  Hopefully somebody will get in touch xx
