Hi Will, welcome to the forum, but sorry you had to be here. I have lung cancer and have had two major surgeries, both on my right lung. I guess the next move for me will be radiation, but I'll know more after I see the lung surgeon. I'm not sure what stage it is now, but I have lost a large section of my lung. I will be seeing my surgeon soon though and I have lots of questions for her. Its' really hard to predict what direction this disease will take and that's the uncertainty that is really hard to deal with. About all I can offer you right now is to be by your Dad,s side and support him through this. I hope it turns out okay for him.

Come on to the forum anytime to chat and let off steam if you need to. I'm sure someone will be along soon to respond as well. People on here are very supportive and caring, so you will find it helpful to chat here.

Hi Will,

My mum was diagnosed only last week with with lung cancer and it has possibly spread. She is having an MRI on Monday so hopefully we will find out more. The wait for tests and results is frustrating! i want them to act fast as time is of the essence! 

Anyway, i have read many stories on here and on other forums that even lung cancer patients with stage 4 cancer have gone on to live a long life so please do not despair. As i keep reading, everyones situation is different.

i think that is what I'm struggling with, the uncertainty. Orginally we were told it had'nt spread and that surgury would remove it. This was'nt the case. So now were re relying on Chemo and other treatments.

It's just the worse waiting game in the world. Waiting to find out if the treatment has worked.

And seeing my mum upset as the day my nanna went into remission, for the 2nd time, dad got told he had cancer..

I hope you are ok and i think this forum is great for support..
