Wine, whippets and breast cancer

Hi everyone, fairly new to this malarkey, referred to hospital in March, had lumpectomy and sentinel node removal in April, and back for lymph node removal this Thursday as two out of four were naughty nodes.  Is anyone on here at the same stage as myself, would love a bosom buddy to share and care and chat with xx

  • Hi Whippetlove,

Ive just joined today so I'm a fellow newby. I was diagnosed in April with grade 3 and had my lumpectomy and node removal last week. Still waiting the results although they have already told me from the scan that 2 of my lymph nodes are 'highly suspicious' which I think is hospital speak for they think the cancer has spread that far at least.

I have been recovering well after the op but then had a sudden down turn Sunday evening which developed into a very swollen boob by Monday, which then became hard and lumpy and hot (not in a good way). I ended up back in hospital yesterday where they admitted I had gotten an infection which happened during the surgery as my wound is as clean as a whisle but the tissue in my boob is on fire.

I am now rattling around with copious amounts of antibiotic tablets in me while i await my results. Cant say Im enjoying this "journey" I'm on.

Have they told you how many lymph nodes they are removing ?  x
