Hello!

I suddenly find myself in the situation where it's possible my husband has breast cancer.  This was the first website I turned to, as I just know someone out there will know far more than me about this.  He's had a scan and biopsy just today, with a follow up on the 15th of this month.  I'm hoping that joining the forum will be inspiring, comforting and helpful, and I suspect that I won't be disappointed.....!  Ian is coming up for 63, I'll be 50 this year, and we've been married for nearly three years, but together for nearly ten - he is a very proud Scotsman, and has had the very good sense to seek advice immediately, since discovering a lump a couple of weeks ago.  I thank you all in anticipation of your advice and experience.

  • Hello Hollysmum = sorry to hear this about Ian. Welcome here ans yes its a nice caring forum where people hold their hand out to offer support and help.. It sounds like Ians lump is still being inverstigated = so lets hope its benign and just a 'lump'. Well done - to get to the GP quickly = speed is all!! So, have a lovely Easter and try to put it out of your minds until the next appointment.

  • Hi Hollysmum,

As Steven has said well done to your husband for going to his G P so quickly. Many men make all the excuse's not to go (that included me) and only go when pressured by their wife's or partners. My prostate cancer may have been diagnosed several months earlier if I had taken my wife advice at the begining. Luckily I have made a good recovery thanks to my wife insisting on me going to my doctor.

As Steven has said, lets all hope it's just a lump. The waiting to have test and then for results make time seem like it is standing still and is one of the worst times.

Take care and I wish you both a happy Easter, Brian.
