how to know if its cancer?????

hi,

so one my friends girlfriend said that she is suffering from cancer and she found that 1 year ago.i have talked to her and everytime i talk her voice changes.i feel as if she is having some sort of cold or cough.now i knw that there are 4 stages of cancer but what i dont know how and what changes within a person according to their health.

also she has travelled a few times to meet her boyfriend.and she has also told her boyfriend.i am a mutual friend so i dont knw if and whether i should ask nething more.she celebrated valentines day and both of them got drunk.she says she wants to live in present as she doesnt have much time.but as far as i can see in pictures she looks fine, her hair is till shoulder length.also sheis working.

till now i dont think she has undergone any chemo or any radaiation procedure.because if she would have then she would have hairloss and her weight would also gradually drop.i cant evn ask her what stage of cancer does she have.?

so i would really like to knw even if i wont ask her .i would like to know what does a person looks like or sounds like if they have cancer.also a brief answer.can anyone help?

Well the diagnosis of cancer = or anything for that matter - depends on four aspects - well five really.

Epidemiology= who gets this illness? Some illnesses only men get, others only women get. Some only older people get. So, you have to work this out.

Symptoms = what happens? How does the body change with this illness?

Time frame = is it sudden onset, one day you were well and the next ill. Does it come and go = they call that waxing and waneing. Does it get worse with time = progressing = or is it constant. How long has it been going on for - chronic - more than three weeks, acute within a few days, hyperacute within a few hours.

Mechanism= what is the mechanism of the illness - for example how does the llness occur? A virus lands and then infects certain cells causing these cells to change. Cancer is due to genetic coding changes causing cells to reproduce wrongly causing the affected organ to behave unexpectedly.

Right = now you have the four components = you need to find out what cancer does = the affected part can work incorrectly, have pain and bleeds. - its chronic/  progressive, can be anyone but most often in older people with a genetic link and some how is in contact with toxins; mechanism is that it grows faster than normal cells and it moves about the body.

Now the fifth part is tests to confirm diagnosis.

Get that all sorted and you have got it!!

This is how the doctors work and as you see its quite a process.
