Hi, my name is gemma. I am 42 years old and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last May. I had surgery followed by 6 cycles of chemotherapy. Do we ever get back to normal post cancer? Can we ever go back to how it was before diagnosis?
Im new to this horrible disease; or at least I haven't known I had it until last winter. I had surgery for ovarian cancer too and all went well and I had no other treatment then. There was something else there though and im now waiting to find out if there are new tumours and where else they are. Right now I'm getting on taking each day for what it is and I'm mostly ok. I'm 63 years old so realise I must seem old to you, but you know, I still feel younge just a bit more wrinkled and tired than I was.
I hope we can get past the illness, get well, and live for the good times. I hope I won't dwell on the tough bits and what might happen. Live and enjoy what you can is my new motto. Good luck.
