Another new member!

Hello, I'm barbara. Just been diagnosed with breast cancer week before last. Already had sentinel lymph node removal and biopsy. First meeting with oncologist Wednesday. Not sure how I feel at the moment but I think "scared" is up there somewhere!
  • Hello Barbara,

I'm Duncan and am currently awaiting the results of my biopsy whichI had a week past Thursday.  Attended hospital last Thursday expecting to be told what type of lymphoma I have and what treatment plan would be put in place. Delay with pathology results so am now expecting a phone call tomorrow and today is not one of my better days.  Anxious would be mild to say the least & definitely my lowest day so far but I am sure there will be more & am sure others are having worse days so perhaps for that I should be grateful not too mention thankful.  Good luck for Wednesday Barbara

  • Hi Barbara i think i can say this for a lot of members and none members when we get the dreaded results an easy/blunt way to express my feelings was head up ***..! (sorry if that offends any1) we all know n remember how we feel when we first get it, i knew around xmas time in my own mind but didnt get it confirmed until 2wk ago this thursday so still very new to me but im trying to deal with it the best i can and talking to people about it helps and stay possitive all the best n good luck Andy.

  • Hi barbara. I had all the nodes taken out from my armpit at the end of sept, my treatment was the opposite way round to you, i had chemo first to shrink the lump ( 10cm by 12cm ) then the op. Make sure you keep up with any exercises they have given you to stop things ceasing up. Try to be positive there is always hope after a no cure diagnosis i was given the news i was cancer free in november. Keep fighting. Jos
